Virginia Graeme-Baker Pool & Spa Act

Virginia Graeme-Baker died in 2002 after being entrapped by the drain in the bottom of her pool. Virginia Graeme-Baker was the Granddaughter of former Secretary of State James Baker. After dying from a powerful suction drain the bottom of a pool, the bill was passed to make sure all pools and spas were safe for all ages to enjoy. The new act requires that new remedies be installed prior to December 20, 2008.
